First UK training management software house to achieve ISO 9001!

For the past year we have been working towards ISO 9001:2008 certification, the most widely used and internationally-known framework for business systems, and we are over the moon to announce that we have been assessed and successfully operate our Quality Management System in compliance with the requirements!

If you aren’t familiar with the ISO standards family, they ‘ensure that products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality’. In essence, the standards make sure that an organisation works to a consistently high level of quality. This is especially true for ISO 9001 which is centred on ‘Quality Management’.

The journey to achieve certification has not been an easy one but the effort put in by every member of the team has made sure that the benefits have been enormous. The Quality Management System is not an add-on to the existing workings of the business but has been adopted as the overall business system, thus every single area of the organisation has profited.

Dave Evans, MD explains, “The whole team have worked really hard for the certification of ISO 9001 and the best result that we could hope for was achieved! However, our main driver was not the certification, but the journey of improving our existing processes.  This focus on continual improvement and monitoring will enable us to provide ongoing benefits to our customers.”

The key outcome that has been achieved is the opportunity provided for the business to continually improve. With the standard’s continual improvement approach, accessplanit has been able to focus on preventive measures as well as corrective. Thus, we have become much more proactive in addressing potential issues before they become problems.

But enough about us, what are the benefits to a customer working with an ISO certified company?

  • Better quality service and products
  • The company is regularly assessed by an independent body
  • It signifies that major time and effort has been put in by the organisation
  • Risks and mistakes are minimised
  • There is a continuous flow between departments providing a smooth customer journey
  • The organisation is continually improving
  • Customer satisfaction is a central theme of ISO 9001
